On October 14, 2024, the European Investment Bank (EIB) organized a conference in Luxembourg addressing the fight against sexual violence in conflict zones. The event featured Her Royal Highness Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, President of Stand Speak Rise Up!, and Chékéba Hachemi, co-founder of the association and the first female Afghan diplomat.

The conference highlighted the work of Stand Speak Rise Up! in supporting victims of sexual violence and children born of rape. EIB President Nadia Calviño emphasized the importance of investing in women to strengthen societies, particularly in conflict zones.

Since 2019, Stand Speak Rise Up! has supported more than 6,000 women in 13 countries, including Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Ukraine. The event underscored the critical need to advocate for an end to the use of rape as a weapon of war and to protect human rights.
