A new Luxembourg rose has been unveiled: the “Stand Speak Rise Up” rose. Created by the association “Patrimoine Rose pour le Luxembourg”, this unique rose pays tribute to the efforts and achievements of Stand Speak Rise Up! The naming ceremony took place in June 2022, in the city of Esch-Sur-Alzette’s Laval Park, in the presence of HRH the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg.

A moving baptism

This rose symbolizes the beauty, dignity and resilience of the Survivors supported by Stand Speak Rise Up! These are women whose lives have been turned upside down by unimaginable violence, but who have found the strength to rise again and fight for a better future.

At the ceremony, the President of Stand Speak Rise Up! expressed her emotion and gratitude: “Offering this rose to the Survivors is a promise renewed with each bloom: it will be a reminder that we see these women as beautiful, dignified and courageous. (…) Let’s act together to put an end to rape used as a weapon of war!”

Roses for sale

Gardening enthusiasts and supporters of the cause can purchase rose bushes directly from Patrimoine Rose pour le Luxembourg.
