Project Description
/ Survivors’ Week: between inspiration and resilience
Over the course of an entire week, Stand Speak Rise Up! created a unique sharing, training and capacity-building space for Survivors, activists and project leaders from all over the world.
Over the course of several days, these extraordinary women came together to share their experiences and build their skills as part of our mentoring program. Workshops, training courses, meetings with partners… every moment was designed to nurture resilience, celebrate courage and support these leaders working for a fairer, more inclusive future.
Hailing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Cuba and Afghanistan, they embody Stand Speak Rise Up!’s guiding principle since 2019: “Nothing about us, without us”.
Survivors, project leaders and activists took it in turns to present their struggles and projects in their respective countries. These speeches particularly moved the audience, which included key Stand Speak Rise Up! partners in France. It is essential to listen to those who are fighting to free their countries from the violence systematically faced by women.
As part of the Stand Speak Rise Up! mentoring program, the Survivors and project leaders we support took part in a workshop dedicated to communication, run by our partner BGL-BNP Paribas. This workshop was a fantastic opportunity for them to acquire concrete tools for structuring and communicating their ideas, better promoting their initiatives and carrying their projects forward with confidence.
The Survivors and Stand Speak Rise Up! project leaders took part in a discussion at the Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse with representatives of the Zonta Club of Luxembourg and members of Luxembourg associations involved in the fight against violence against women.
An enriching and inspiring moment of exchange and sharing, between women working for the same cause, at the crossroads of continents.
The Survivors took part in a reception organized at the Berg Castle in collaboration with the Fondation du Grand-Duc et de la Grande-Duchesse.
In attendance were the key partners of Stand Speak Rise Up! in Luxembourg, as well as Prime Minister Luc Frieden. This meeting enabled the partners to discover the evolution of the projects led by these Survivors and their impact in each country.
November, 23, 2024 – Orange week solidarity walk
Les Survivantes took part in the Orange Week solidarity march in Luxembourg. Organized by the CNFL, the march was held in downtown Luxembourg to denounce violence against women.
They joined forces with Luxembourg organizations and joined HRH the Grand Duchess in calling for a collective mobilization to end sexual and gender-based violence.
November, 23, 2024 – Luxair plane inauguration
The Survivors took part in the official launch of the Stand Speak Rise Up! partnership with Luxair airline. This powerful and symbolic gesture testifies to a deep commitment to raising awareness of this crucial cause.
They were particularly moved by the aircraft’s outfitting, which proudly bears the Stand Speak Rise Up! colors and the faces of women victims of violence around the world. The fight against war rape knows no borders.
